Kerosene Cucumbers, home to all who love The Andy Griffith Show, is named for Aunt Bee’s pickles that we loved and that Andy, Barney, and Opie loathed. “The Pickle Story” is one of the must-see episodes of The Andy Griffith Show because of the hilarious story line and the comedic chemistry between Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. Much like the pickles, this site is a staple for all who love The Andy Griffith Show.

Yes, Opie. Aunt Bee did enter those pickles into the contest.

This site is maintained by Dave Newell, a writer from Greenville, SC who has been a life-long fan of The Andy Griffith Show. He also maintains The History Bluff, a humorous blog about what may have happened down through the years.

  1. LOL..my husband and I (and my parents) are big fans of the AGS. What an adorable name for a website – I knew the episode you were referring to right time I read your ad on facebook. I think we’ve seen them all! :) My favorite one is where the governer is coming to congratulate Barney for being a good officer and giving him a parking ticket. Barney gets drunk, thinking the governor is mad instead, and tells Andy to tell him to “put that in his smipe and poke it”. lol
